The Vintage Raleigh Hercules is one of many three speed bikes that were popular in the U.S. They were originally built by Hercules Cycle and Motor Company Limited in 1910 at first producing only 25 bikes per week with demand quickly growing.
The Vintage Raleigh Hercules was created with ease of riding in mind. A popular 3 speed, it was known for its sturdiness. Even today, they are known as probably the easiest bicycles to maintain. It still has the fenders that keep the rider and bike seat clean. The saddle seat made it seem more like you were in an easy chair and the handlebar grips were thick enough so the rider would be unlikely to need gloves or could easily hang a basket.
