As our country goes from one decade into another, there is an ongoing interest in collectibles. An interesting collection is vintage South Carolina license plates.
South Carolina did not require that their vehicles be legally licensed until 1917. Aside from just collecting plates, in April 2007 something changed the dynamics. If a vehicle was at least thirty years old an application could be made to the Department of Motor Vehicles to use a vintage license plate for the same model. What makes this interesting to the collectors of vintage South Carolina license plates is that for the first time they could actually use their vintage plates. Can you imagine how this has changed the dynamics, fun, and value of collecting vintage South Carolina license plates?
