One Dixie gas sign is round with a blue band around the edge. There is a picture of two crossed Confederate flags with "Dixie" underneath and "Motor Oil" above. Another Dixie gas sign is the same except that there is a Confederate soldier's cap above the flags and "Motor Oil" does not appear. There has been confusion regarding the second design, since there was a beer company called Dixie in the same period. Because of this, the second design is sometimes mistakenly sold as a beer sign.
Signs from Dixie gas pumps are quadrangular tapering at the bottom. There is a blue border with white stars surrounding a field of red, white and blue stripes. There is a shield in the upper center reading "Dixie."
